hi I am from a small town here in Australia and it is quite hard to find somewhere to ring unless you go a couple of hours to do so on real bells. So different from being in the UK where there is bells being rung around every corner. We are lucky enough though that one of our keen enthusiasts has a simulator tower set up at his home…my teacher. Ringing here is great and a passion that I now have. Maybe it is born into your blood but I certainly now have a passion for it. I have only been learning since July and in September I was able to visit the uk and do some ringing (without help) at the local parish of where my best friend lives. Just the difference between the tow countries and access to bells is a very huge difference. I am very lucky to have been given the opportunity that I guess a lot of people would not have. I am now a member of the Australian New Zealand bell ringing association and I am now looking forward to moving forward to going through this course. my aims and ambitions is of course to come back to uk and ring again with my best friend but also to be able to go to Melbourne to the cathedral and ring there. I wonder how long it will take me to do so. I can’t wait to ring my first 1/4 peel and peel. cheers to all the ringers.
