This could be for the benefit of another tower or a project organised by your local ringing society. Successful fundraising depends on good planning and organisation, effective communication and having an enthusiastic and engaging team to deliver it.
Not everyone finds it easy to be on the front line raising funds but there are lots of ways you can contribute without having to rattle the money tin:
- Design a leaflet, flyer or poster.
- Offer any skills you have – such as marketing, accounting, design or writing.
- Work ‘behind the scenes’ – help set up, clear away, put up posters, write a press release, send out promotional letter or emails, take photographs etc.
The event should be something you really want to do. For example:
- A sponsored ring – this could be a peal, quarter peal or whatever might represent a challenge for the band.
- Arrange an open day.
- An event that includes some ringing – walk and ring, or cycle and ring.
- A sponsored tower grab.
- Cake stall, home made produce – always popular at ringing events!
- Teddy bear abseil from the church tower.
