Help Centre - As an Assessor: Are there any differences in the way that I should be assessing Teachers and their supporting mentors?

As of 1 January 2020 there are now no differences in the way that Teachers and mentors are assessed across all Modules.

Everyone seeking ART accreditation needs to effectively demonstrate and/or explain the teaching criteria appropriate to the Module being sought. These criteria are listed in the relevant Module pages of the Teacher Training Logbook (click ‘Continue to Resource‘ on the page that follows: here) or in the appropriate ‘Guidance Notes for Assessors’ (click in the ‘Accreditation and Assessment‘ area on the page that follows: here). It is suggested that you use copies of these Guidance Notes as assessment proformas for all those that you assess. Mentors seeking accreditation by supporting Teachers (‘mentoring route’ to accreditation) do not need to complete a Teacher Training Logbook themselves, but should have taken an active role in mentoring as evidenced and recorded in the Logbooks completed by the Teachers.
