Tutored by Neil Donovan, this is Module 1 of the ART Training Scheme (teaching bell handling) taking place at Christ Church, North Shields (10 bells, 16cwt).

The day is a mixture of theory and practical exercises in the tower with a lunch break, during which the local bell team will be providing a buffet lunch in the spacious hall at the parish centre adjoining the Church – the lunch will include “Mike’s famous sausages in a bun” – not to be missed!

Parking is free on Preston Road (A192) which runs directly past the Church. All other roads around the Church are either for residents only, or pay-and-display. The car park to the South East of the Church is free all day on Saturdays. This can be found in Upper Camden Street and is accessible only from the South end.

The Church will be open from 9.00am if delegates wish to arrive early, with the Welcome meeting from 9.30am, course starting at 10am.

Refreshments will be provided throughout the day – tea, coffee, cold drinks and cake, and there are toilet facilities in the Church itself.
