First Half Muffled Ringing

My wife and I started learning bell ringing under the tutelage of Mike Rigby, Tower Captain in Lighthorne . We started nervous and apprehensive in August in the hope of having the honour of ringing for the Armistice centenary.

By October, after weeks of highs and lows, the patience of our excellent tutor Mike Rigby paid off and we both obtained our level one certificate. Tonight we have both rang in rounds half muffled.

It was a nostalgic moment with the familiar sound of one stroke followed by the muffled blow of a sound reminiscent of a steel drum. We both acknowledged how this reminded us of our special day in Antigua when we were married six years ago on the fifteenth . Our confidence grows with thanks to the patience of our fellow ringers.
