On Saturday 15th October, a module 1 course (teaching bell handling) will be held at St Andrew’s, Cherry Hinton – tutored by Geoff Horritt.
Module 1 courses are suitable for people who are new to teaching bell handling, but also to more experienced teachers who wish to extend their skills and support other teachers. The course should provide delegates with skills and techniques to take a ringer from their first lesson to competent bell control, in safe, manageable steps – building confidence through teaching in easy stages.
After attending a module 1 course, delegates have 2 years to work towards their accreditation with ART through a mixture of practical teaching work, planning and evaluating each handling lesson, an online theory test and a session where an ART Assessor observes their teaching.
The course will be held at St Andrew’s and there is plenty of parking available down the side of the road called ‘Church End’, or the number 1 bus can be taken from Cambridge Railway Station.
As usual, course fees to ART are £20, but an additional £5 local charge is payable to cover the cost of hiring the Parish room. It would be appreciated if delegates could also make an additional donation to cover refreshments and lunch.
