This half-day workshop will take place at the Stretham Ringing Education Centre on the 29th April, between 10am and 1pm.
It will be tutored by Roger Booth and is ideal for anyone interested in teaching others with the assistance of a simulator. The workshop will explore the various items of hardware and software available, their advantages and disadvantages, as well as troubleshooting common setting up problems.
The emphasis is on giving people hands on experience. Practical sessions start by covering how simulators can be used to teach people to ring accurate rounds and leading, and then take them through a step by step approach to build up bell control and listening skills, to plain hunt and ringing methods.
Delegates will work in pairs on a ‘workstation’ with headphones, so there is a limit to the numbers that can attend. At the end of the workshop each participant should have mastered the basics and be sufficiently familiar with using the software to use it in their own tower.
The workshop costs £5 payable to ART. Please bring along money to cover a donation for any refreshments. To book a space, please use the online form on the SmART Ringer booking calendar here.
